  Neurosurgery department of Peking University People's Hospital is a professional center of microneurosurgery, functional neurosurgery and endoscopic neurosurgery，which is characterized with "precision, minimally invasive" and conception of "patient-centered" in both emergency and inpatient procedure.

    The center is in domestic leading level of microvascular decompression technique (such as facial spasm, trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia). The center has unique techniquesin treatments of epilepsy, Parkinsons disease, Meige’s syndrome, dystonia and other functional diseases. The center also getsimportant achievements in treatments of head trauma, cerebral aneurysm, cerebrovascular malformations, ischemic cerebrovascular disease, Moyamoya disease, glioma, meningioma, brain metastases, acoustic neuroma, skull base tumors,craniofacial tumor, pituitary adenoma, hydrocephalus, spinal cord tumor, Chiari malformation, tethered cord syndrome, cerebral palsy. The center was founded in 1984 by Professor Luan wenzhong. With more than 30 years of heritage and unremitting efforts, the center has integratedmedical, teaching, research and quality care, become a prominentclinical department of PKUPH.

    The center has staff more than 40, including 13 doctors, chief physicians 5, deputy chief physicians 2, attending physicians 2, residents 4, professors 3 and Ph.D. tutors 3.

     The centerhas participated and completed 1 National "973" project, 1 National Science and Technology Support Program (Twelfth Five - Year Plantopics) ，18 national and provincial projects, accessed 3 national patentsand 1 invention patents, published more than 260academic articles. The center has trained more than 40 graduate students, more than 200 medical trainingstudents. The center is located in Peking University People's Hospital inpatient 8th floor C area. The center has a variety of advanced professional medical equipment, complete facilities, strong ability to solve a variety of neurosurgical diseases.
