About Us

    The Department of Pain Medicine of Peking University People’s Hospital founded in 2007, once was a pain medicine group of the Department of Anesthesiology. In 2013, it became an independent department, and the current chairman is FENG Yi, MD.

    A group of experienced and outstanding specialists in medicine, education and research gathered here, dedicated to giving best services to chronic pain patients. The department is comprised of three subspecialties: Bone and Articular Pain, Neuropathic Pain and Cancer Pain.  The Department of Pain Medicine is in the leading place in China with regard to microinvasive interventional procedure of lumbar disc herniation, neuromodulation of neuropathic pain and management of cancer pain. Given the accomplishment achieved in the area of standard treatment of cancer pain, the Department of Pain Medicine set up one of the first “Good Pain Management Wards” in China authorized by the National Ministry of Health.

    Since Peking University People’s Hospital is the second medical teaching hospital of the Peking University Health Science Center, our department has a professionally and responsibly teaching team, commitment to teaching and practicing of medical undergraduates, interns, postgraduates, visiting scholars from all over the country. We have been hosted “Treatment and Advances of Pain Medicine” training program for five consecutive years, it becomes one of the most influential conventions in pain medicine in China.

    The Department of Pain Medicine always attaches much importance to scientific research. Professor Feng Yi is a standing committee member of Chinese Association for the Study of Pain. The Department of Pain Medicine currently focuses on some research aspects about bone and soft tissue pain, neuropathic pain and cancer pain. Dozens of paper were published in SCI journals and Chinese core journals.
