About Us
    For years, people with deformityor aesthetic purposes have turned to Peking University People’s Hospital physicians for help. Recognized widely, cosmetic surgeries at People’s Hospital provide high quality care, ensuring that patients receive the most advanced treatments available. Integrating diagnostic and therapeutic services, the Department offers comprehensive services to patients.

    The Department of Plastic &Aesthetic Surgerycontinues to emphasize patient care. Our team has been focusing on Breast Reconstructionfor more than 30 years. Not only tissue expander and breast implant can be used for breast reconstruction, but autologoustissue transferring  with microsurgery technique such as DIEP/ TRAM/ LDT/ SIEA/SGAP/ IGAP/ TUG/ PAP has been successfully finished. Individual method breast reconstruction is needed  according to patients’ condition of the body. The final results should be body sculpture.

    Mastectomy related upper arm lymphedema occurs about 35-63% in patients. Simultaneously to reconstruct the chest wall, to reconstruct the breast, to rebuild the axillary , to treat upper arm lymphedema can be finished at the same time with super-microsurgery technique such as lymphatic-DIEP, lymphatic-SIEA, sometime with L-V anastomosis together witch works very well.

    Breast lift/Breast reduction/Breast augmentation( withBreast implantfat injection) is carried on daily.
    Bi-maxillary surgery for OSAS is another special aspect of our department. Co-operation with Sleeping Center offers the basis of this treatment.
    Ear Reconstruction/ hair transplantation is also special for our department.

    Aesthetic surgery such as double eyelids/ nose augmentation/ blepharoplasty/ face lift et al is very common.
    Non-invasive treatment such as Botox injection /hyaluronic acid is operated experienced
    We also aims to do world-class research on breast reconstruction, lymphedema, fat,OSAS, developing innovative methods and treatments.
Training new leaders is a priority in the Department, and a number of education programs are offered to medical students, residents, and fellows. Working side by side with practitioners and clinical investigators, trainees are exposed to a diversity of deformities, diagnostic techniques, and therapy options.

    In 2008 the Division of Medical Cosmetic was established as a clinical facility in Peking University People’s Hospital. There are three sub-groups for Medical Cosmetic Division: Aesthetic Surgery, cosmetic dermatology, cosmatic  stomatology.
In 2014, Plastic Surgery Department was reorganized by Dr.LAN MU (Professor from  Aesthetic and Reconstructive of Breast Center ,Plastic Surgery Hospital, PekingMedical College, Chinese Academy  of Medical Science)  and Dr.FENG ZHANG (Professor from University of Mississippi，U.S.A.).This expansion enables patients to obtain the expertise of aesthetic surgery faculty while being treated in the comfort and convenience of a community hospital.
